WebVelocity, a new Smalltalk Development Environment for the Web

Michael Lucas-Smith

Abstract

An introduction to a brand new Smalltalk development environment called WebVelocity. Built from Seaside and VisualWorks, it also integrates Glorp as well as the ActiveRecord and Scaffolding patterns to make building datbase driven web applications a breeze. In this presentation we'll go through all the development tools, from code editors to inspectors to debuggers, all in the web browser - and build a web application from the ground up.

Bio

Michael Lucas-Smith is a Cincom Smalltalk engineer and the team lead for the WebVelocity product.
