Title: SqueakJS Speaker: Bert Freudenberg Tue, August 19, 2:00pm – 2:30pm Abstract: SqueakJS is a Squeak VM implemented in pure JavaScript, running in any web browser, even on mobile devices. It can load, execute, and save regular Squeak images, and we are working on making it as feature-complete and performant as possible. SqueakJS was developed inside the Lively Kernel, which made implementing it more fun and enabled better debugging facilities than usual for VM development. For the code and demo see https://github.com/bertfreudenberg/SqueakJS/ Bio: Bert Freudenberg is a freelancing developer based in Magdeburg, Germany. Currently he is working with the Communications Design Group at SAP Labs. He is a long-time Squeak contributor and elected Squeak Board member since 2006.
