Title: Interfacing the real world with the VASERcontrol home automation system Speaker: Thomas Stalzer Slides: http://www.slideshare.net/esug/interfacing-the-real-world-with-the-vasercontrol-home-automation-system Tue, August 19, 9:45am – 10:30am Description The VASERControl home automation platform is an integration system for various home automation protocols integrating lighting, heating, cooling, shades, multimedia, security/alarming, etc. for building logical modules and develop impressive frontends that make it easy to use complex technology. Two outstanding projects which have been realized with this system will be presented in this presentation. First an integration with the Lego Mindstorm robots to solve this year’s Moonbots 2014 - Google Lunar XPrize Lego mindstorms challenge. This will not be our entry to the challenge as Smalltalk is not allowed. However we will demonstrate our alternative coding. The second project is building a more realistic environment system for fish tanks. Bio: Thomas Stalzer has been working with Smalltalk for more than 25 years. He played a major part in several large scale applications defining the architecture and implementing the frameworks needed to ensure the success of these applications. After renovating his home in 2006, he found the need for a powerful platform to integrate various Smarthome systems into one platform.
